Spend Winter with Clean Water
Before you shut things down for the season, a thorough cleaning and the right water chemistry make all the difference.
Our Hilton Head pool closing service includes:
- Debris removal
- Brushing the pool walls, pool surface with a quality pool brush
- Cleaning the filter system, and emptying the skimmer baskets.
- Adjusting chlorine levels and calcium hardness by adding the right winter chemicals to protect your inground pool through the colder months.
When we finish, your pool water is clean and balanced, which keeps algae growth, corrosion, and scale from taking hold while the pool sits idle.
Hassle-Free Equipment Winterizations
When the Lowcountry sees a cold snap, your pool pump, heater, and plumbing are at risk if they have not been winterized correctly. Our team handles every detail, from draining and blowing out the plumbing lines to removing drain plugs, clearing the main drain line, and adding pool antifreeze where it belongs. We also prep and store removable pool equipment and fittings while inspecting valves, the filter system, and heaters for any sign of trouble.
By winterizing your circulation system the right way, we help you avoid serious damage and the expensive freeze repairs. With our professional service and a few smart precautions, your equipment will be ready to run the moment warm weather returns. If we recommend larger repairs to your equipment, we will walk you through additional services required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I still need to winterize my pool in Hilton Head if winters are mild?
Yes. Hilton Head winters are mild next to what folks see up north, but we still get overnight freezes that can crack plumbing lines, damage a pool pump, and leave you with serious damage. Even when the pool is not running, water chemistry drifts and algae growth can creep in. A proper pool closing service protects your equipment and keeps the pool water in good shape, so a mild forecast is no reason to skip it.
Can I use a standard tarp instead of a winter cover?
We do not recommend it. A basic tarp is not built to handle standing water, wind, or debris, and it will not protect your pool the way a fitted pool cover does. A true winter cover or safety cover is sized for your pool, anchored down, and made to shed water and leaves. A clean cover that fits correctly is one of the simplest ways to avoid a messy, algae-filled surprise in spring. A careful closing is really the first step toward a smooth opening in spring. When you trust us with your pool closing service, you also set yourself up for an easy pool opening once swimming season returns.
How should I prepare my saltwater pool for winter?
Saltwater pools need a couple of extra steps at closing. We remove and clean the salt cell, then install a faceplate cover, sometimes called a dummy cell, so the plumbing stays sealed through winter. We also check the zinc anode for wear, since a healthy zinc anode protects your metal fittings and equipment from corrosion all season. A worn zinc anode or a missing faceplate cover can cause real problems, so both get a close look during every saltwater closing. From there we balance the water chemistry, drop the level below the skimmer, and cover the pool just like any other inground pool.
